What counts as a seat
PreShot is sold per editor. A production has far more people who need to read the call sheet than people who write it, and charging for both would be charging you for your own crew list.
- An editor holds a seat
- Anyone who can change a document: add a shot, move a strip, edit the call sheet. That's who a seat is for.
- Viewers are free
- Share a production with your gaffer, your client or a runner and they can read it and print it without holding a seat.
- A seat is a person, not a device
- Sign in on the edit suite, the laptop and the phone on set. That's one seat, because it's one person.
- An unaccepted invitation holds its seat
- Inviting someone reserves their seat straight away, so your last two seats can't be promised to three people. Withdraw the invitation and the seat comes back.
- A seat can move between jobs
- Pro includes 2. The second one is usually the 1st AD on the current production — take them off at the wrap and give it to whoever's on the next one.

Questions people ask
Do the prices include VAT?
No. Every price here is ex-VAT, because the people buying it are production companies that reclaim it. Paddle handles the sale as merchant of record and adds the tax that applies where you are. Give them a valid VAT number at checkout and the reverse charge applies where it should.
What happens when the free trial ends?
Nothing is charged, because the trial never took a card. On the day it ends the workspace goes read-only, with no grace period — the end date is part of the licence, so the app isn't guessing. Your productions stay exactly where they are, and printing and export keep working. Subscribe and you're editing again straight away.
What happens if I cancel?
The workspace goes read-only. Nothing is deleted, hidden or held back. Every shot list, schedule and call sheet still opens, still prints and still exports, so you can take a full copy of the work with you after you've stopped paying.
How do I know whether I need Pro?
By whether anyone else edits with you. Standard is one seat: you, on as many machines as you like. The moment a second person needs to write — a producer, a 1st AD — that's Pro. The crew tools are in there because that's the same moment you start needing them.
Can I switch between them?
Both directions, whenever you like — it's the seat count, so you change it in the app and Paddle prorates. Going down to Standard means taking the other person out of the workspace first, and the app says so rather than quietly dropping somebody.
What happens to my crew book if I go back to Standard?
It stays, and you keep every way out of it. You can read it, search it, export it and delete from it — you just can't add to it or edit it until you're back on Pro. Locking you out of an address book you then can't erase would put us between you and an obligation you owe the people in it.
What does a third seat cost?
Pro includes 2. Every seat after that is €10 a month, added and removed whenever the production changes. A seat is a person, not a device.
How do refunds work?
Paddle processes them, because Paddle is the merchant of record on every sale. The terms are on the refunds page.
